ELEMENT PRESENCE DETECTOR |
|
The
EPD1 instrument is the world’s
first field portable plasma
source based
monitor that instantly detects
particles in air or liquids in
real-time. The instrument can
be used to detect elemental contents
in the air continuously, 7x24.
It has the ability to alarm on
the presence of particles at
a specified hazardous threshold
or when exposure exceeds limits
defined by government guidelines.
The instrument is particularly
sensitive and can detect particles
well below EPA and OSHA guidelines.
It is contained within a portable,
ATA rated water resistant
case, 55 lbs, 21”wide
x 22” deep x 13” high;
43 lbs., 19”x21”x10” rack
mounted.
The alarming system consists
of the ability to offer visual
or audible alarms, email or page
a supervisor (with LAN connection),
or signal an external alarm
or control system via contact
closure.
Log files are generated which
record among other things, occurrences
of an identified element, time
of occurrence, instrument on & off
time/date, power outages, etc.
Reports can be downloaded to
a PC or sent to a server via
LAN connection.
The instrument uses highly sophisticated
patented technology to create
a microwave induced plasma at
atmospheric pressure to evaporate
fine particles. An integrated
spectrometer and computer is
then used to “read” the
signature of atomic emissions
to determine the element and
quantity
